Cutting Corners Ltd has developed a major breakthrough with their
innovative products and installation system that will benefit the flooring
industry.
The Cutting Corners range of
preformed seamless covings along with the
‘Mitre Maker’ stencil and installation system will bring a new approach to
installing vinyl in internal corners.
The ‘Trimitre’ used in conjunction with the ‘Mitre Maker’ stencil provides the conventional flooring contractor
with the ability to install internal mitres in clean air rooms and controlled
environments. The system gives the
client a snag free internal that is easy to clean and maintain, reduces any
build up and hibernation of bacteria therefore extending the longevity and
lifecycle benefits of the vinyl.
Uniformity, consistency, strength and support are also major benefits as
well as being pleasing on the eye.
Tarkett UK, a leading vinyl manufacturer, is the first company to
approve, endorse and now specify the system.
Steve Urwin, Marketing Manager for Tarkett UK said “The Tarkett UK Technical Team
are seriously impressed with the Cutting Corners range, particularly the
‘Trimitre’ seamless covings for clean air rooms. It works great with our Tarkett ‘ProtectWall’
and makes achieving the perfect seamless installation so much easier.”
SAS Flooring Ltd, a prominent flooring contractor in the UK who specialise in the installation of vinyl
in clean air rooms, have tried and tested Cutting Corners products and
installation system throughout the development process and received positive
feedback from clients. Rob Chick, Senior
Plant Manager Oxford Biomedica said “We were very happy with the installation at
our plant and would highly recommend using their system. We need to clean and maintain our facility to
a high standard and the finish the system provides enables us to do that with
ease.”
The Cutting Corners range
includes the ‘Floormitre’ internal
seamless cove that is used when vinyl is installed on floors. This innovative cove has many benefits and
attributes and ends the many issues that flooring contractors have had to
endure when fitting vinyl internals. The ‘Floormitre’ cove can be used with
either capping strip or diminishing strip at standard construction industry
heights of 100mm and 150mm. Its seamless
radius profile provides a perfect smooth surface for vinyl to sit neatly on to
and a 90 degree upright section that fits snugly into the corner and hides any
gaps or damaged walls that have been left behind by the builders or have simply
just degraded over the years giving the flooring contractor the ability to weld
the internal mitre perfectly and snag free.
Andy Bury of AFB Flooring
Solutions Ltd said “We were very fortunate
to be asked to trial the ‘Floormitre’, as soon as I'd heard of this product I
was sure it was going to be a big success. We were sent samples and used them
straight away and the results were faultless.
As we all know the walls are very rarely in an acceptable state when we
come to cove our material so I was even more pleased with the ‘Floormitre’ than
I even thought I would be. The ease off
fitting the internal corners after applying the ‘Floormitre’ was noticed
straight away. All corners are the same
in uniformity, which is something you rarely get with the state of some walls. Welding was easy as the strength and upright
section of the ‘Floormitre’ means the weld no longer falls through the standard
cove former. We have trialled this
product on some very substandard walls and I have to say the results are
phenomenal, so much so that we would not do a cap and cove job without using
these as a standard practice and don't think it will be long before it's a
standard practice throughout the industry.
I cannot praise this product enough”.
Cutting Corners have linked up with Floorskills, a highly reputable and
nationally recognised flooring training provider to deliver bespoke tailored
practical courses that will be sanctioned and approved by the CITB. This will provide the flooring contractor
with a unique qualification they can then use in the clean air room industry
with confidence.
Floorskills will also be delivering cap and cove courses using the ‘Floormitre’ internal cove.
Cutting Corners have just
received notification of a granted design registration for their latest
innovative product, the ‘External’
cove that will now be in circulation in 2014.
