CHALLENGE
The Vyne Community School
is a co-educational, specialist school for the performing arts based in
Basingstoke. As part of a major refurbishment project, the client required a
durable and hard wearing Stair Nosing that would meet the rigorous standards of
the school’s health and safety policy as well as current Building Regulations.
The Stair Nosings would also need to be easy to maintain and had to be fitted
quickly during a school holiday period.
SOLUTION
Q Range was perfectly suited to such high foot traffic
environments as it combines maximum durability with the highest standards of
safety through a unique edge to edge tread.
The school’s Head Teacher took great interest in Quantum
Floorings’ new Q Range of Stair Nosings as they offered a Building Regulations
best practice solution. They were available in the specific colour required as
well as meeting all the other key specifications for durability, maintenance
and tight delivery time scales.
Once the Q Range was selected, Quantum Flooring’s free
measuring service, QSMS, was used to measure each step individually. Once
complete each step measurement was sent directly to the Quantum Flooring in
Oldham for cutting. Meaning within two days each step was delivered individually
labelled and ready for fitting on site.
To help with speeding up the fitting process of
installation, Flooring Contractor Just Floors also choose Quantum Floorings no
screw fitting system, reducing time on site whilst still delivering a high
quality installation.
Furthermore no drilling was required
into the solid Terrazzo floor and there were no pipes in the completed flooring.
